Prestigious Bank of America Neighborhood Builders Award

HCC is proud to announce that is was selected as a 2011 Neighborhood Builder by Bank of America, receiving $200,000 in core operating support over two years and strategic leadership training. The grant will help build the agency’s capacity to serve the community, including enhancing its health information technology infrastructure. These improvements will allow the agency and staff to work more efficiently to serve the needs of individuals and families. We commend the Bank of America for nurturing the nonprofit community.

TJX Companies Support Mental Health Services for Children

HCC is grateful for the ongoing support of the TJX Companies, which provided a $4,500 grant for the HCC Mental Health Outpatient Program, targeting the needs of disadvantaged families affected by domestic violence, especially the children who witness and are affected by abuse.

Hispanic Federation Supports HCC Infrastructure

Thanks to a $16,000 grant from Hispanic Federation, HCC has been able to build the necessary hardware to implement Electronic Health Record technology, which is essential to the operation of the Outpatient Mental Health and Chemical Dependency programs. We are very grateful to Hispanic Federation for their ongoing support of HCC.

LIFWG Grant Supports Program for Hispanic Mothers

HCC has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Long Island Fund for Women & Girls (LIFWG) to fund the Mothers’ Education & Training Program, in order to help immigrant mothers to understand their legal rights and responsibilities as parents and to become educational advocates for their children. LIFWG is a charitable organization that invests in the power of women and girls.

HCC Receives Hedge Funds Care Grant

Hedge Funds Care made a $25,000 grant to support the efforts of the agency to work with children exposed to domestic violence and their non-offending parents. HCC provides mental health treatment and a range of ancillary family services to work with these vulnerable families. The goal of the program is to break the familial cycle of abuse through treatment, education, and supportive services to effect lasting beneficial change in the lives of the children and the family. Hedge Funds Care is devoted to preventing and treating child abuse worldwide.

Manhasset Community Fund Greentree Foundation Grant

HCC is grateful for the continued support of the Manhasset Community Fund’s Greentree Foundation “Good Neighbor” Fund, which is providing support for workshops and services for Hispanic parents, particularly those in Town of North Hempstead. HCC provides education and training to assist parents to negotiate the school system and become active participants in their children’s success.

Thanks to a grant from the Christopher D. Smithers Foundation, HCC will be able to provide a Chemical Dependency Education Series in Spanish and during the evening hours in the Bay Shore Clinic and provide intakes in the evening. The Smithers Foundation is committed to helping individuals suffering from alcoholism.

Nassau County Bar Association WE CARE Fund Grant
