REQUIRED:

  • LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC is required.

The Hispanic Counseling Center is seeking a “Certified Peer Recovery Support Advocate”(CPRA).

Job description includes but is not limited to: CPRA will provide direct support services to clients in the Substance Use Disorder Outpatient Clinic and assist in the engagement process, support and coordination of care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide recovery support to individuals who are in recovery from substance use or co-occurring mental health disorder.
  • Advocate and coordinate seamless care transitions and person-centered care.
  • Assess situations to determine importance, urgency, risk and need to communicate with the team to meet client’s immediate needs.
  • Complete thorough and timely documentation.
  • Evening/weekend hours may be required

REQUIRED:

  • Certified Peer Recovery Support Advocate (CPRA) certificate
  • High School Diploma or GED

Hispanic Counseling Center is currently seeking a highly motivated/dedicated Bilingual Spanish/English psychiatrist specialist to join our multidisciplinary clinical treatment team in the Mental Health Outpatient Clinic and Substance Use Disorder Outpatient Clinic.

Job description includes but is not limited to: The psychiatrist will conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management services in both programs, will complete psychiatric evaluations, psychiatric progress notes and other forms, assist as needed in the clinic. Will also collaborate with the treatment team for the benefit of our clients with mental illness and substance use. Must meet deadlines for all documentation and paperwork requirements.

REQUIRED:

  • Must be fully fluent in Spanish/English
  • Medical Degree
  • Psychiatrist must work on site from the agency

  • Board Certified
  • Medication Administration Training (MAT)

Hispanic Counseling Center is currently seeking a highly motivated/dedicated Bilingual (English/Spanish) Bilingual Parent & Family Advocate to join our Respite Program

Job description includes but is not limited to:

  • Reports to Program Coordinator
  • Conducts intakes and provides support to family at the initial stage
  • Prepares Individualized Service plan upon clients’ intake and update every six months
  • Conducts and completes individual, group, and family FPSS session notes, discharge summaries and linkage when appropriate to other resources.
  • Facilitate parents groups, trainings, and empowering activities for parents and caregivers
  • Conducts and collects parent program surveys
  • Collaborates with county and state agencies and other community organizations
  • Conducts a series of Education classes
  • Attends CSE meetings as required
  • Other activities as required by the agency or the program.

REQUIRED:

  • Former or current experience as a parent or primary caregiver who has navigated child servicing systems on behalf of their children with social, emotional, behavioral, developmental, and/or healthcare needs.

PREFERRED:

  • Minimal High School Diploma
  • Fully bilingual in Spanish/English
  • Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with a variety of multi-ethnic and socio-economic groups and/or individual.
  • Must be knowledgeable of resources available in the community to meet the needs of families.
  • Candidate must be a parent or legal guardian of a child who was previously diagnosed Severely Emotionally Disturbed.

Hispanic Counseling Center is currently seeking a highly motivated/dedicated full-time Bilingual (English/Spanish) coordinator to join our multidisciplinary clinical treatment team in the Ryan White Part A/MAI Program.

Coordinator is responsible for program planning, reviewing all applications to the program for eligibility and is responsible for meeting capacity in the program. Coordinator is responsible for collaborating and coordinating services with other agencies as well as outreach and promotion of the program in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Coordinator is responsible data management and reports.

REQUIRED:

  • BA is required (Masters preferred)
  • Must be fully fluent in both Spanish & English.
  • Coordinator must work on-site.

PREFERRED:

  • 3-5 years in Mental Health/HIV clinic experience
  • 1 year experience with working with HIV/AIDS population
  • Working with multicultural populations

Hispanic Counseling Center is currently seeking a highly motivated/dedicated full-time Bilingual (English/Spanish) clinician to join our multidisciplinary clinical treatment team in the Ryan White Part A Program.

Job description includes but is not limited to: The clinician will conduct individual, group and family counseling, facilitate psycho-education groups, complete assessments, progress notes and treatment plans for our clients with HIV/AIDS. Clinician will maintain daily communication with HIV service providers to coordinate medical and psychiatric services on behalf of clients (i.e. medical case managers, grant funded case managers, transportation services, nutritional services, pharmacies and other services to which clients qualify for. Clinician must also meet deadlines for all documentation by using the CARE Ware Data Program and paperwork requirements. Will also coordinate activities with the Program Peer Supportive Specialist in behalf of the clients.

REQUIRED:

  • LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC is required.

Hispanic Counseling Center is currently seeking a highly motivated/dedicated Bilingual (Spanish/English) counselor to join our team as a Project Hope Counselor. The Crisis Counseling Assistance and training Program (CCP) is a federally funded supplemental program administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This program, NY Project Hope, is overseen by the NY State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and provided by the Hispanic Counseling Center.

 

Job description includes but is not limited to:

  • Works with individuals, families, and groups to provide outreach, emotional support, individual and group crisis counseling, public education, and referrals when needed
  • Is synonymous with term “outreach worker”
  • Represents program in the community and networks with other agencies and partners to ensure needs of survivors are met
  • Provides presentations to community groups on disaster reactions, coping skills, stress management, and the CCP
  • May use the mobile application to complete data forms

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Driver’s License/Transportation
  • Willing to commute

PREFERRED:

  • Background or interest in mental health services
