Substance Abuse Counselor

Qualifications:   LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or CASAC credential

The Hispanic Counseling Center (HCC) located in Hempstead NY is seeking to hire an experienced bilingual (English/Spanish) Substance Abuse Counselor with at least three (3) years’ experience to provide direct services to individuals with alcohol and/or drug related disorders.

The Substance Abuse Counselor will:

  • Conduct assessments
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans
  • Establish treatment goals and milestones with clients
  • Prepare progress reports and letters for relevant parties
  • Meet deadlines for all documentation and paperwork requirements

The successful candidate must be an LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or CASAC credential. Three years’ experience in counseling, social work, or other related fields preferred. Familiarity with NYS/OASAS 822 and Medicaid Regulations is helpful.

The Mental Health Outpatient Clinic has an opening for a full-time social worker/mental health counselor to provide behavioral health services in an outpatient setting in Nassau County. Candidate must be fully fluent in English and Spanish. Must have valid license in New York State as LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC. Experience in clinical social work preferred. Worker will provide individual, group and family therapy in a multicultural context. Position includes medical benefits, paid vacation and sick days.

Bilingual Domestic Violence Counselor

Hispanic Counseling Center is currently seeking a highly motivated/dedicated Bilingual (English/Spanish) Domestic Violence Program Counselor to join our multidisciplinary treatment team.  The Counselor will complete screenings, conduct intakes and psycho-education groups using the Duluth Model as well as individual sessions as needed. Must meet deadlines for all documentation and paperwork requirements.

Bachelor’s degree is required. Experience working with this population is preferred.

Hispanic Counseling Center is currently seeking a highly motivated/dedicated Bilingual   (English/Spanish) Clinician to join our multidisciplinary clinical  treatment team in the chemical dependency program.  The Clinician will conduct individual and group therapy, psycho-education groups, assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans for our chemical dependency clients. Must meet deadlines for all documentation  and paperwork requirements.

CASAC Credential is required. Substance/Alcohol Abuse & Mental Health and experience working with multicultural populations is preferred. Familiarity with NYS/OASAS 822 and Medicaid Regulations is helpful.
