Bilingual Mental Health Clinician/Social Worker

Hispanic Counseling Center is currently seeking a highly motivated/dedicated Clinician to join our multidisciplinary clinical treatment team in the Mental Health Outpatient Clinic. The Clinician will conduct individual, group and family counseling, facilitate psycho-education groups, complete assessments, progress notes and treatment plans for our clients with mental illness. Must meet deadlines for all documentation and paperwork requirements.

REQUIRED:

  • LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC is required.
  • Fully fluent in both Spanish & English (Non Spanish speaking are welcome to apply, limited slots available).
  • Clinician must work on-site from the agency.

PREFERRED:

  • 3-5 years in Mental Health clinic experience
  • Working with multicultural populations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English
  • Familiarity with NYS/OMH Article 31 and Medicaid Regulations is helpful.

Bilingual Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)

Chemical Dependency Program

SUMMARY:

The Hispanic Counseling Center is seeking a Bilingual Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) to work in the Chemical Dependency program to provide individual and group counseling to individuals with substance use disorders.

REQUIRED:

  • CASAC degree
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work in addition (preferred)
  • Must be fully bilingual in Spanish/English
  • CASAC must work on-site from the agency

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CASAC Certification
  • Minimum of one-year experience working with individuals with serious substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders
  • Clean and valid NY States’ Driver’s License
  • Proficient computer skills and typing (experience with EHR. and Microsoft office preferred).
  • Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be responsive to time deadlines

Bilingual Certified Peer Recovery Support Advocate (CPRA)

Chemical Dependency Program

Job Type: Part Time

SUMMARY:

The Hispanic Counseling Center is seeking a “Certified Peer Recovery Support Advocate”(CPRA)  to provide direct support services to clients in the Chemical Dependency program and assist in the engagement process, support and coordination of care.

REQUIRED:

  • CPRA certificate
  • Must be fully bilingual in Spanish/English
  • CPRA must work on-site from the agency

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide recovery support to individuals who are in recovery from substance use or co-occurring mental health disorder.
  • Advocate and coordinate seamless care transitions and person-centered care.
  • Assess situations to determine importance, urgency, risk and need to communicate with the team to meet client’s immediate needs.
  • Complete thorough and timely documentation.
  • Evening/weekend hours may be required.
  • Commitment to abide by Hispanic Counseling Center’s Code of Ethics and Code of Ethical Conduct.

NY Project Hope Crisis Counselor (Temporary Position)

The Crisis Counseling Assistance and training Program (CCP) is a federally funded supplemental program administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This program, NY Project Hope, is overseen by the NY State Office of Mental Health and provided by the Hispanic Counseling Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with individuals, families, and groups to provide outreach, emotional support, individual and group crisis counseling, public education, and referrals when needed
  • Represents program in the community and networks with other agencies and partners to ensure needs of survivors are met
  • Provides presentations to community groups on disaster reactions, coping skills, stress management, and the CCP

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Driver’s License/Transportation
  • Willing to commute

PREFERRED:

  • Background or interest in mental health services
  • Background in community outreach/networking

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
