The Reason
The Mental Health Program of the Hispanic Counseling Center is needed in order to assist individuals with managing their mental health symptoms, overcoming challenges/barriers, and leading productive lives.
The Solution
The Mental Health Program of the Hispanic Counseling Center utilizes various types of evidence-based practice interventions to assist individuals with managing their mental health symptoms, e.g. cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). In addition, our program also offers psychiatric services, which includes medication management.
The Implementation
The Mental Health Program of the Hispanic Counseling Center is composed of therapists of a diverse educational background, e.g. social workers, mental health counselors, creative arts therapists, and marriage and family therapists. Individuals seeking mental health services through the Mental Health Program of the Hispanic Counseling Center will first meet with a therapist in order to undergo an initial assessment and will then be scheduled to meet with a psychiatrist in order to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Testimonial
“Being a client at HCC has transcended the conventional therapist-client dynamic; it has become a relationship where I not only receive valuable support but also actively incorporate the lessons learned into my own life. Overall, my three-year journey with HCC has been a learning experience that I continue to go on. I recommend the Hispanic Counseling Center to all my loved ones and everyone, we all need therapy. Break the stigma. Seeking help for yourself is a tremendous act of self-love for one. As I continue this therapeutic journey, I am grateful for the support, growth, and resilience it has instilled in me, fostering a new and empowering sense of well-being.”
