Parenting Program

This program educates parents on what constitutes child abuse and neglect. It educates and demonstrates communication strategies they can use to improve their interactions with their children and create healthier lasting relationships.

Program Objectives:

  • Improve parent/child relationship
  • Further develop parenting skills
  • Increase respect and communication
  • Build self-esteem
  • Develop effective discipline skills
  • Teach parents “Learn to listen” activities
  • Help parent understand their child’s emotional needs
  • Distinguish “Nature vs. Nurture”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic public health crisis the Hispanic Counseling Center’s building will be closed but we are still fully operational, serving our current clients via telehealth (phone or video) and also accepting new clients. If you are in need of an appointment please call our main number at 516-538-2613 during our regular business hours (Monday-Thursday 9am to 8pm and Friday-Saturday 9am - 4pm) and we will be happy to assist you. If you have an urgent matter after hours please call the main number and your call will be forwarded to our emergency line.

Debido a la crisis de salud pública por el COVID-19, el Hispanic Counseling Center cerrará sus oficinas pero todos los servicios permanecerán abiertos y se brindarán por teléfono o por video (TeleHealth) y aceptando nuevos clientes. Si necesita una cita llame a nuestro número principal al 516-538-2613 durante nuestro horario de atención habitual (Lunes a Jueves de 9am a 8pm y Viernes a Sabado de 9am a 4pm) y podremos ayudarle. Si tiene un problema urgente fuera del horario de atención, llame al número principal y su llamada será transferida a nuestra línea de emergencia.
